Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Cement sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Episil-Precision Inc (TW:3016), which rose 10.00% or 3.70 points to trade at 40.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Asia Pacific Telecom Co Ltd (TW:3682) added 9.95% or 0.60 points to end at 6.63 and GeoVision Inc (TW:3356) was up 9.89% or 2.35 points to 26.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519), which fell 9.88% or 0.75 points to trade at 6.84 at the close. ADLINK Technology Inc (TW:6166) declined 3.59% or 1.20 points to end at 32.20 and Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425) was down 3.47% or 1.05 points to 29.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 406 to 383 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519) fell to all time lows; losing 9.88% or 0.75 to 6.84. Shares in ADLINK Technology Inc (TW:6166) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.59% or 1.20 to 32.20.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.65% or 0.88 to $54.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.41% or 0.88 to hit $63.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1222.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.17% to 30.908, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 96.59.
