Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Electricity and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 3.87%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were EverFocus Electronics Corp (TW:5484), which rose 10.00% or 6.60 points to trade at 72.60 at the close. Meanwhile, FocalTech Systems Co Ltd (TW:3545) added 10.00% or 7.00 points to end at 77.00 and Favite Inc (TW:3535) was up 10.00% or 6.10 points to 67.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were King’s Town Construction Co Ltd (TW:2524), which fell 10.00% or 10.40 points to trade at 93.60 at the close. Hung Ching Development & Construction Co Ltd (TW:2527) declined 10.00% or 4.25 points to end at 38.25 and King Slide Works Co Ltd (TW:2059) was down 9.95% or 106.00 points to 959.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.05% or 0.04 to $75.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.18% or 0.14 to hit $78.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.15 to trade at $2,434.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.60% to 32.47, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 102.82.
