Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Textile, Semiconductor and Electronics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 2.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hiroca Holdings Ltd (TW:1338), which rose 10.00% or 2.95 points to trade at 32.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Edimax Technology Co Ltd (TW:3047) added 10.00% or 4.05 points to end at 44.55 and Tidehold Development Co Ltd (TW:9902) was up 9.98% or 2.00 points to 22.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which fell 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 at the close. Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) declined 9.72% or 0.28 points to end at 2.60 and Mercuries & Associates Holding Ltd (TW:2905) was down 3.55% or 0.75 points to 20.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) fell to 3-years lows; falling 9.72% or 0.28 to 2.60.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.38% or 0.29 to $75.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.33% or 0.26 to hit $79.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 2.00 to trade at $2,539.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.73% to 31.96, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.31% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 101.88.
