Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Glass, Semiconductor and Electronics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.65% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Wei Chih Steel (TW:2028), which rose 10.00% or 0.19 points to trade at 2.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Asrock (TW:3515) added 9.94% or 4.90 points to end at 54.20 and Tpcc (TW:4725) was up 9.88% or 1.65 points to 18.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Upc Tech (TW:1313), which fell 4.62% or 0.46 points to trade at 9.49 at the close. Apcb Inc (TW:6108) declined 3.58% or 0.50 points to end at 13.45 and Test Research (TW:3030) was down 3.24% or 1.90 points to 56.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 665 to 179.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.04 to $47.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $50.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.55% or 6.10 to trade at $1120.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.85% to 32.343, while TWD/CNY fell 0.15% to 0.1948.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 97.33.
