Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Transport and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.42%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Universal Textile Co Ltd (TW:1445), which rose 10.00% or 1.55 points to trade at 17.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Abonmax Co Ltd (TW:2429) added 9.98% or 2.45 points to end at 27.00 and Kindom Construction Corp (TW:2520) was up 9.94% or 5.30 points to 58.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Favite Inc (TW:3535), which fell 9.92% or 7.50 points to trade at 68.10 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Action Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3024) was down 9.19% or 2.15 points to 21.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.69% or 0.55 to $79.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.81% or 0.67 to hit $81.63 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 1.25 to trade at $2,502.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.14% to 32.39, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 102.92.
