Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electronics sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.33%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ji-Haw Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3011), which rose 10.00% or 0.77 points to trade at 8.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Crowell Development Corp (TW:2528) added 10.00% or 1.75 points to end at 19.25 and Tah Tong Textile Co Ltd (TW:1441) was up 9.99% or 0.89 points to 9.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536), which fell 7.42% or 1.25 points to trade at 15.60 at the close. Enlight Corp (TW:2438) declined 4.21% or 0.45 points to end at 10.25 and Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW:1470) was down 3.33% or 0.60 points to 17.40.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 530 to 253 and 132 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.42% or 1.25 to 15.60.

Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $62.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $65.47 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.60 to trade at $1323.50 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.10% to 29.301, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2170.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 89.94.
