Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Textile and Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 1.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were SciVision Biotech Inc (TW:1786), which rose 9.97% or 7.00 points to trade at 77.20 at the close. Meanwhile, CMC Magnetics Corp (TW:2323) added 9.97% or 0.620 points to end at 6.840 and Airtac International Group (TW:1590) was up 9.92% or 31.00 points to 343.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which fell 6.51% or 2.10 points to trade at 30.15 at the close. Advanced Optoelectronic Technology Inc (TW:3437) declined 4.61% or 1.00 points to end at 20.70 and Gourmet Master Co Ltd (TW:2723) was down 4.35% or 10.00 points to 220.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 545 to 251 and 109 ended unchanged.
Shares in Advanced Optoelectronic Technology Inc (TW:3437) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.61% or 1.00 to 20.70. Shares in Gourmet Master Co Ltd (TW:2723) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.35% or 10.00 to 220.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.10% or 0.07 to $70.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.30% or 0.24 to hit $78.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.00 to trade at $1214.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.27% to 30.646, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2234.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.52.
