Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Electronic Products Distribution and Electronics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.16% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were KYE Systems Corp (TW:2365), which rose 10.00% or 3.50 points to trade at 38.50 at the close. Meanwhile, CyberTAN Technology Inc (TW:3062) added 10.00% or 2.65 points to end at 29.15 and Bestec Power Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3308) was up 9.98% or 2.80 points to 30.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Universal Textile Co Ltd (TW:1445), which fell 13.83% or 3.25 points to trade at 20.25 at the close. Shin Zu Shing Co Ltd (TW:3376) declined 9.90% or 25.50 points to end at 232.00 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) was down 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in CyberTAN Technology Inc (TW:3062) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 2.65 to 29.15.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.09% or 0.07 to $80.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.09% or 0.08 to hit $85.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 2.35 to trade at $2,344.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 32.39, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 104.89.
