Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Optoelectronic and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Rectron Ltd (TW:2302), which rose 10.00% or 0.75 points to trade at 8.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Pan Jit International Inc (TW:2481) added 10.00% or 2.70 points to end at 29.70 and Advanced Power Electronics Corp (TW:8261) was up 9.97% or 3.15 points to 34.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which fell 4.86% or 0.60 points to trade at 11.75 at the close. Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp (TW:3189) declined 3.94% or 1.95 points to end at 47.55 and Taiwan Tea Corp (TW:2913) was down 3.11% or 0.55 points to 17.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 670 to 145 and 91 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.60% or 0.31 to $52.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.18% or 0.71 to hit $60.91 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1248.35 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.11% to 30.816, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2222.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 97.377.
