Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Textile, Machinery and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Li Cheng Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:4426), which rose 9.99% or 3.60 points to trade at 39.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Bestec Power Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3308) added 9.95% or 0.79 points to end at 8.73 and Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262) was up 9.87% or 3.10 points to 34.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018), which fell 9.91% or 4.50 points to trade at 40.90 at the close. Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) declined 9.78% or 1.75 points to end at 16.15 and Hotel Holiday Garden (TW:2702) was down 9.59% or 1.65 points to 15.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 592 to 215 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.91% or 4.50 to 40.90. Shares in Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.78% or 1.75 to 16.15.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.15% or 0.10 to $65.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $72.14 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.59% or 7.00 to trade at $1201.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 30.703, while TWD/CNY rose 0.13% to 0.2244.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 95.44.
