Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Electricity and Optoelectronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492), which rose 9.98% or 28.00 points to trade at 308.50 at the close. Meanwhile, HannStar Board Corp (TW:5469) added 9.98% or 2.65 points to end at 29.20 and Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442) was up 9.91% or 1.05 points to 11.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018), which fell 9.87% or 2.95 points to trade at 26.95 at the close. Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912) declined 4.91% or 11.00 points to end at 213.00 and Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262) was down 4.70% or 1.85 points to 37.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 597 to 205 and 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.87% or 2.95 to 26.95. Shares in Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442) rose to 5-year highs; rising 9.91% or 1.05 to 11.65.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.29% or 0.20 to $68.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.13% or 0.10 to hit $76.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.70 to trade at $1211.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 30.731, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2222.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.16.
