Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Cement and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Casetek Holdings Ltd (TW:5264), which rose 10.00% or 4.00 points to trade at 44.00 at the close. Meanwhile, VIA Technologies Inc (TW:2388) added 10.00% or 2.05 points to end at 22.55 and Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) was up 9.97% or 7.50 points to 82.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which fell 9.77% or 15.00 points to trade at 138.50 at the close. Thye Ming Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9927) declined 3.63% or 1.15 points to end at 30.55 and President Chain Store Corp (TW:2912) was down 3.51% or 11.50 points to 316.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 711 to 117 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452) fell to 3-years lows; falling 9.77% or 15.00 to 138.50. Shares in Thye Ming Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9927) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.63% or 1.15 to 30.55.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.71% or 0.44 to $61.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.49% or 0.35 to hit $71.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.70 to trade at $1230.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.18% to 30.723, while TWD/CNY rose 0.35% to 0.2262.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 95.90.
