Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electricity, Paper & Pulp and Other Electronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ene Technology Inc (TW:6243), which rose 9.94% or 1.65 points to trade at 18.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Tri Ocean Textile Co Ltd (TW:1472) added 9.88% or 1.60 points to end at 17.80 and Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) was up 9.85% or 1.30 points to 14.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348), which fell 6.08% or 1.90 points to trade at 29.35 at the close. Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) declined 5.88% or 1.80 points to end at 28.80 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) was down 4.51% or 2.90 points to 61.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 535 to 242 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ene Technology Inc (TW:6243) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.94% or 1.65 to 18.25. Shares in Tri Ocean Textile Co Ltd (TW:1472) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.88% or 1.60 to 17.80.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.22% or 0.10 to $46.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $51.58 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 6.25 to trade at $1312.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.16% to 30.147, while TWD/CNY fell 0.41% to 0.2169.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 92.44.
