Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Textile and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912), which rose 10.00% or 17.50 points to trade at 192.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) added 9.98% or 2.60 points to end at 28.65 and Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:3025) was up 9.97% or 1.75 points to 19.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Abocom Systems Inc (TW:2444), which fell 9.84% or 1.80 points to trade at 16.50 at the close. King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) declined 5.91% or 1.70 points to end at 27.05 and San Chih Semiconductor Inc Ltd (TW:3579) was down 4.76% or 0.80 points to 16.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 526 to 280 and 108 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $67.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $77.64 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.50 to trade at $1298.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.46% to 29.849, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2140.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.09.
