Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Textile, Rubber and Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Everest Text (TW:1460), which rose 9.87% or 1.55 points to trade at 17.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) added 9.84% or 1.80 points to end at 20.10 and Upc Tech (TW:1313) was up 9.81% or 1.05 points to 11.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shenmao (TW:3305), which fell 7.07% or 2.20 points to trade at 28.90 at the close. Theil (TW:6271) declined 6.44% or 7.50 points to end at 109.00 and Wistron Neweb (TW:6285) was down 5.65% or 5.40 points to 90.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 473 to 263 and 129 ended unchanged.
Shares in Upc Tech (TW:1313) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.81% or 1.05 to 11.75.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.09% or 0.55 to $50.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.06% or 0.55 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.35 to trade at $1262.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.39% to 31.542, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2131.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 97.92.
