Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Auto and Electronic Products Distribution sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.58% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ace Pillar (TW:8374), which rose 9.85% or 1.60 points to trade at 17.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Pao Lung (TW:1906) added 9.84% or 1.25 points to end at 13.95 and Taisol (TW:3338) was up 8.76% or 2.85 points to 35.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475), which fell 5.62% or 0.54 points to trade at 9.06 at the close. Iron Force (TW:2228) declined 4.44% or 10.50 points to end at 226.00 and Action Eltr (TW:3024) was down 3.75% or 0.240 points to 6.160.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 456 to 261 and 129 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pao Lung (TW:1906) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.84% or 1.25 to 13.95. Shares in Taisol (TW:3338) rose to 52-week highs; rising 8.76% or 2.85 to 35.40.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.64% or 0.31 to $48.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.49% or 0.25 to hit $50.64 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1312.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 31.378, while TWD/CNY fell 0.24% to 0.2119.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 95.95.
