Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Rexon Industrial Corp Ltd (TW:1515), which rose 10.00% or 4.80 points to trade at 52.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Falcon Power Co Ltd (TW:1516) added 9.94% or 1.80 points to end at 19.90 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) was up 9.89% or 3.25 points to 36.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 9.37% or 0.40 points to trade at 3.87 at the close. Apex International Co Ltd (TW:4927) declined 7.08% or 2.60 points to end at 34.10 and Test Research Inc (TW:3030) was down 6.43% or 3.40 points to 49.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 519 to 247 and 146 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.64% or 0.45 to $70.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $78.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.10 to trade at $1201.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 30.776, while TWD/CNY fell 0.23% to 0.2215.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.34.
