Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Auto, Optoelectronic and Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.48% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Kaori Heat Treatment Co Ltd (TW:8996), which rose 9.97% or 3.90 points to trade at 43.00 at the close. Meanwhile, BenQ Materials Corp (TW:8215) added 9.95% or 1.90 points to end at 21.00 and Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) was up 9.95% or 0.76 points to 8.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cheng Loong Corp (TW:1904), which fell 5.77% or 1.20 points to trade at 19.60 at the close. Epistar Corp (TW:2448) declined 5.74% or 2.45 points to end at 40.25 and Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467) was down 5.47% or 2.05 points to 35.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 402 to 372 and 100 ended unchanged.
Shares in BenQ Materials Corp (TW:8215) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.95% or 1.90 to 21.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.16% or 0.08 to $50.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $55.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 6.25 to trade at $1318.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 30.078, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2180.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 91.68.
