Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Optoelectronic and Semiconductor sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374), which rose 10.00% or 3.40 points to trade at 37.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Davicom Semiconductor Inc (TW:3094) added 9.94% or 2.30 points to end at 25.45 and Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) was up 8.70% or 3.45 points to 43.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ichia Technologies Inc (TW:2402), which fell 9.78% or 1.75 points to trade at 16.15 at the close. Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518) declined 7.75% or 2.90 points to end at 34.50 and Radiant Opto-Electronics Corp (TW:6176) was down 7.22% or 5.20 points to 66.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 467 to 292 and 121 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 10.00% or 3.40 to 37.40.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.13% or 0.07 to $53.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.12% or 0.07 to hit $60.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.08 to trade at $1270.72 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 30.184, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2197.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 94.68.
