Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Optoelectronic and Glass sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.45% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were AVer Information Inc (TW:3669), which rose 10.00% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.00 at the close. Meanwhile, AVerMedia Technologies Inc (TW:2417) added 10.00% or 1.10 points to end at 12.10 and Calin Technology Co Ltd (TW:4976) was up 9.99% or 4.65 points to 51.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASRock Inc (TW:3515), which fell 8.62% or 7.90 points to trade at 83.80 at the close. Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) declined 5.12% or 1.55 points to end at 28.75 and Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) was down 4.99% or 0.85 points to 16.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 549 to 233 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in AVerMedia Technologies Inc (TW:2417) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 1.10 to 12.10. Shares in Calin Technology Co Ltd (TW:4976) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.99% or 4.65 to 51.20.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.49% or 0.23 to $47.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $52.29 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.78% or 10.39 to trade at $1340.79 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.18% to 30.038, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2171.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 92.48.
