Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Glass and Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.45% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Meiloon Industrial Co Ltd (TW:2477), which rose 10.00% or 2.25 points to trade at 24.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Roo Hsing Co Ltd (TW:4414) added 10.00% or 0.29 points to end at 3.19 and Davicom Semiconductor Inc (TW:3094) was up 10.00% or 3.65 points to 40.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ritek Corp (TW:2349), which fell 10.00% or 1.80 points to trade at 16.20 at the close. EverFocus Electronics Corp (TW:5484) declined 9.97% or 9.60 points to end at 86.70 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) was down 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Meiloon Industrial Co Ltd (TW:2477) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.00% or 2.25 to 24.75.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.46% or 0.38 to $83.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.32% or 0.27 to hit $85.67 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 10.20 to trade at $2,411.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.24% to 32.53, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 104.18.
