Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Other Electronic and Optoelectronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.42% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were D-Link Corp (TW:2332), which rose 10.00% or 1.25 points to trade at 13.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Ritek Corp (TW:2349) added 10.00% or 1.100 points to end at 12.100 and APAQ Technology Co Ltd (TW:6449) was up 10.00% or 6.80 points to 74.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), which fell 8.71% or 4.80 points to trade at 50.30 at the close. Min Aik Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:4545) declined 6.48% or 2.55 points to end at 36.80 and Ruentex Materials Co Ltd (TW:8463) was down 5.96% or 1.70 points to 26.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 463 to 344 and 110 ended unchanged.
Shares in D-Link Corp (TW:2332) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 1.25 to 13.75. Shares in Ritek Corp (TW:2349) rose to 5-year highs; up 10.00% or 1.100 to 12.100. Shares in APAQ Technology Co Ltd (TW:6449) rose to all time highs; up 10.00% or 6.80 to 74.80.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.41% or 0.96 to $66.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.82% or 0.63 to hit $75.84 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.60% or 7.80 to trade at $1295.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.13% to 29.916, while TWD/CNY rose 0.56% to 0.2137.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 93.88.
