Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Information Services and Other Electronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were X-Legend (TW:4994), which rose 9.95% or 7.60 points to trade at 84.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Enterex International Ltd (TW:1592) added 9.94% or 4.35 points to end at 48.10 and Genius (TW:3406) was up 9.85% or 5.30 points to 59.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genesis Photon (TW:3383), which fell 9.89% or 0.36 points to trade at 3.28 at the close. Tai-I (TW:1613) declined 9.87% or 0.300 points to end at 2.740 and Gintech (TW:3514) was down 9.43% or 1.75 points to 16.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 427 to 322 and 124 ended unchanged.
Shares in X-Legend (TW:4994) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.95% or 7.60 to 84.00. Shares in Genesis Photon (TW:3383) fell to all time lows; down 9.89% or 0.36 to 3.28. Shares in Gintech (TW:3514) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.43% or 1.75 to 16.80.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.13% or 0.06 to $45.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $46.56 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1225.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 31.909, while TWD/CNY rose 1.03% to 0.2150.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 100.44.
