Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which rose 10.00% or 4.60 points to trade at 50.60 at the close. Meanwhile, AOPEN Inc (TW:3046) added 9.47% or 0.36 points to end at 4.16 and Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518) was up 9.08% or 2.75 points to 33.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CX Technology Corp (TW:2415), which fell 5.95% or 1.95 points to trade at 30.80 at the close. Lotes Co Ltd (TW:3533) declined 5.94% or 12.00 points to end at 190.00 and Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) was down 5.65% or 2.00 points to 33.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 423 to 343 and 110 ended unchanged.
Shares in Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.08% or 2.75 to 33.05.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $48.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $53.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.80 to trade at $1330.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.01% to 30.017, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2169.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 91.80.
