Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electronics, Electrical/Machinery and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taiwan Chelic Corp Ltd (TW:4555), which rose 10.00% or 4.05 points to trade at 44.55 at the close. Meanwhile, G.M.I Technology Inc (TW:3312) added 10.00% or 7.90 points to end at 86.90 and AVerMedia Technologies Inc (TW:2417) was up 9.99% or 4.50 points to 49.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 10.00% or 0.26 points to trade at 2.34 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Apex International Co Ltd (TW:4927) was down 4.55% or 2.50 points to 52.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.26 to 2.34.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.20% or 0.15 to $73.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.18% or 0.14 to hit $77.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 2.50 to trade at $2,553.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 31.95, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 101.35.
