Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Trading & Consumer Goods and Textile sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.25%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which rose 9.89% or 1.35 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Gigastorage Corp (TW:2406) added 9.51% or 0.89 points to end at 10.25 and Promise Technology Inc (TW:3057) was up 8.99% or 0.85 points to 10.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Young Optics Inc (TW:3504), which fell 10.00% or 9.90 points to trade at 89.10 at the close. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) declined 9.95% or 10.30 points to end at 93.20 and Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) was down 9.95% or 0.59 points to 5.34.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 581 to 236 and 99 ended unchanged.

Shares in Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.95% or 10.30 to 93.20.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.25% or 0.17 to $67.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.53% or 0.41 to hit $77.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.40 to trade at $1201.20 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.16% to 30.788, while TWD/CNY rose 0.27% to 0.2233.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.98.
