Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Trading & Consumer Goods, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645), which rose 9.95% or 6.60 points to trade at 72.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) added 9.77% or 1.30 points to end at 14.60 and Young Optics Inc (TW:3504) was up 9.64% or 12.00 points to 136.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hotel Holiday Garden (TW:2702), which fell 9.96% or 3.50 points to trade at 31.65 at the close. Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492) declined 9.16% or 35.00 points to end at 347.00 and Yageo Corp (TW:2327) was down 7.02% or 59.00 points to 781.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 495 to 293 and 131 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.38% or 0.27 to $69.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.29% or 0.22 to hit $75.33 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1220.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 30.640, while TWD/CNY rose 0.22% to 0.2238.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 94.13.
