Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Electricity, Rubber and Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.17% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lead Data (TW:2443), which rose 10.00% or 0.63 points to trade at 6.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Precision (TW:3016) added 9.95% or 2.15 points to end at 23.75 and Danen (TW:3686) was up 9.93% or 0.74 points to 8.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Space Shuttle (TW:2440), which fell 4.72% or 0.47 points to trade at 9.48 at the close. Genius (TW:3406) declined 4.27% or 8.00 points to end at 179.50 and Cx Tech (TW:2415) was down 4.12% or 1.30 points to 30.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 409 to 357 and 110 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.25% or 0.13 to $53.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.27% or 0.15 to hit $55.87 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.35 to trade at $1235.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.21% to 31.002, while TWD/CNY fell 0.27% to 0.2221.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 100.26.
