Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Services, Construction and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.17% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425), which rose 9.97% or 1.50 points to trade at 16.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Dah San Electric Wire & Cable Co Ltd (TW:1615) added 9.97% or 1.55 points to end at 17.10 and Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) was up 9.92% or 0.51 points to 5.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Darfon Electronics Corp (TW:8163), which fell 7.61% or 2.65 points to trade at 32.15 at the close. Elite Material Co Ltd (TW:2383) declined 6.36% or 7.00 points to end at 103.00 and Taiwan Paiho Ltd (TW:9938) was down 4.89% or 5.50 points to 107.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 453 to 337 and 102 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dah San Electric Wire & Cable Co Ltd (TW:1615) rose to all time highs; up 9.97% or 1.55 to 17.10.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $63.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $69.17 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1335.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 29.565, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2181.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 90.38.
