Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Glass and Optoelectronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Formosa Sumco Technology Corp (TW:3532), which rose 9.99% or 7.40 points to trade at 81.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) added 9.98% or 2.25 points to end at 24.80 and First Copper Technology Co Ltd (TW:2009) was up 9.93% or 0.85 points to 9.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ta Jiang Co Ltd (TW:1453), which fell 6.04% or 0.56 points to trade at 8.71 at the close. KPT Industries Ltd (TW:1805) declined 4.02% or 0.50 points to end at 11.95 and Ennoconn Corp (TW:6414) was down 3.68% or 13.50 points to 353.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 411 to 344 and 120 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.98% or 2.25 to 24.80.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.31% or 0.14 to $44.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $46.93 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.92% or 11.73 to trade at $1264.17 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.08% to 30.236, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2251.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 96.93.
