Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Trading & Consumer Goods, Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.14% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Adimmune Corp (TW:4142), which rose 10.00% or 1.75 points to trade at 19.25 at the close. Meanwhile, King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) added 9.99% or 3.70 points to end at 40.75 and LCY Chemical Corp (TW:1704) was up 9.95% or 4.75 points to 52.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661), which fell 10.00% or 14.50 points to trade at 130.50 at the close. Cub Elecparts Inc (TW:2231) declined 10.00% or 34.00 points to end at 306.00 and Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) was down 9.78% or 3.50 points to 32.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 501 to 305 and 108 ended unchanged.
Shares in LCY Chemical Corp (TW:1704) rose to 5-year highs; up 9.95% or 4.75 to 52.50.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.22% or 0.15 to $68.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $72.97 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1230.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.20% to 30.637, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2218.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.15.
