Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Electricity, Paper & Pulp and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.12% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were ASRock Inc (TW:3515), which rose 10.00% or 7.20 points to trade at 79.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Holtek Semiconductor Inc (TW:6202) added 9.98% or 6.00 points to end at 66.10 and Shiny Chemical Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1773) was up 9.92% or 7.20 points to 79.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Taiwan Paiho Ltd (TW:9938), which fell 4.56% or 6.00 points to trade at 125.50 at the close. Chailease Holding Co Ltd (TW:5871) declined 3.88% or 3.10 points to end at 76.80 and Global View Co Ltd (TW:3040) was down 3.63% or 1.40 points to 37.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 376 to 349 and 146 ended unchanged.
Shares in Holtek Semiconductor Inc (TW:6202) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.98% or 6.00 to 66.10. Shares in Shiny Chemical Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1773) rose to all time highs; rising 9.92% or 7.20 to 79.80.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.83% or 0.42 to $51.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.60% or 0.34 to hit $56.59 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.68 to trade at $1300.18 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.23% to 30.138, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2176.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 92.84.
