Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Transport and Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gigastorage Corp (TW:2406), which rose 9.97% or 0.71 points to trade at 7.83 at the close. Meanwhile, WUS Printed Circuit Co Ltd (TW:2316) added 9.97% or 1.55 points to end at 17.10 and Tex-Ray Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1467) was up 9.95% or 1.10 points to 12.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which fell 9.91% or 1.60 points to trade at 14.55 at the close. Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) declined 9.90% or 4.05 points to end at 36.85 and Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) was down 6.81% or 1.45 points to 19.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 395 to 389 and 132 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.91% or 1.60 to 14.55. Shares in Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.90% or 4.05 to 36.85.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.46% or 0.30 to $66.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.40% or 0.29 to hit $72.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1199.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.22% to 30.718, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2238.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 95.19.
