Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electricity, Electronic Parts/Components and Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were China Steel Structure Co Ltd (TW:2013), which rose 10.00% or 2.65 points to trade at 29.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) added 9.98% or 2.50 points to end at 27.55 and Acer Inc (TW:2353) was up 9.98% or 2.15 points to 23.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rexon Industrial Corp Ltd (TW:1515), which fell 7.85% or 3.55 points to trade at 41.70 at the close. Casetek Holdings Ltd (TW:5264) declined 7.20% or 5.10 points to end at 65.70 and Yusin Holding Corp (TW:4557) was down 6.81% or 4.80 points to 65.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 439 to 350 and 124 ended unchanged.
Shares in Yusin Holding Corp (TW:4557) fell to all time lows; losing 6.81% or 4.80 to 65.70.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.17% or 1.50 to $70.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.35% or 1.76 to hit $76.61 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.90 to trade at $1308.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.37% to 29.924, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2133.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 93.18.
