Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Optoelectronic and Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.09% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sunty Development Co Ltd (TW:3266), which rose 9.95% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Gamma Optical Co Ltd (TW:3557) added 9.95% or 0.640 points to end at 7.070 and Elitegroup Computer Systems Co Ltd (TW:2331) was up 9.95% or 1.90 points to 21.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kaulin Mfg (TW:1531), which fell 4.55% or 1.05 points to trade at 22.05 at the close. Dah San Electric Wire & Cable Co Ltd (TW:1615) declined 4.52% or 0.70 points to end at 14.80 and Global Unichip Corp (TW:3443) was down 4.51% or 10.00 points to 211.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 403 to 356 and 117 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.74% or 0.35 to $46.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $52.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1324.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.30% to 30.106, while TWD/CNY fell 0.27% to 0.2189.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 92.74.
