Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Other, Iron & Steel and Cement sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tai-I (TW:1613), which rose 10.00% or 0.310 points to trade at 3.410 at the close. Meanwhile, Super Dragon (TW:9955) added 9.97% or 1.80 points to end at 19.85 and L&K Eng (TW:6139) was up 9.94% or 2.50 points to 27.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Evertex (TW:1470), which fell 8.64% or 1.90 points to trade at 20.10 at the close. Space Shuttle (TW:2440) declined 6.90% or 0.62 points to end at 8.36 and Yoko Tech (TW:6131) was down 6.06% or 0.70 points to 10.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 423 to 332 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Super Dragon (TW:9955) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.97% or 1.80 to 19.85.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.26% or 0.12 to $46.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.82 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.64% or 8.65 to trade at $1357.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 31.425, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2115.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 94.47.
