Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.60% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 0.69% or 0.090 points to trade at 13.130 at the close. Meanwhile, Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 0.59% or 0.032 points to end at 5.426 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) was up 0.03% or 0.005 points to 18.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Acerinox (MC:ACX), which fell 4.50% or 0.505 points to trade at 10.710 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 4.45% or 1.020 points to end at 21.910 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was down 2.74% or 0.259 points to 9.195.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 137 to 31 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 2.62 to $1292.72 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $48.51 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.08 to trade at $51.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1812, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.9084.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 93.04.
