Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which rose 3.25% or 2.80 points to trade at 89.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) added 2.53% or 0.48 points to end at 19.45 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) was up 2.51% or 0.23 points to 9.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aena SME SA (BME:AENA), which fell 6.21% or 11.60 points to trade at 175.10 at the close. Ferrovial (BME:FER) declined 5.16% or 2.00 points to end at 36.74 and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:BBVA) was down 4.63% or 0.47 points to 9.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 98 to 88 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 16.15 to $2,468.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.56% or 2.66 to hit $77.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.04% or 2.37 to trade at $80.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.95.
