Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Endesa (MC:ELE), which rose 1.23% or 0.230 points to trade at 18.960 at the close. Meanwhile, Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 0.55% or 0.135 points to end at 24.790 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was up 0.48% or 0.055 points to 11.590 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which fell 3.60% or 0.147 points to trade at 3.940 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 3.43% or 0.060 points to end at 1.689 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was down 2.39% or 0.235 points to 9.605.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 131 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.65% or 8.30 to $1278.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.22% or 0.13 to hit $58.23 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.07 to trade at $64.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1846, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 92.96.
