Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.12%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 0.91% or 0.230 points to trade at 25.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 0.68% or 0.180 points to end at 26.660 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was up 0.55% or 0.150 points to 27.450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which fell 4.61% or 1.390 points to trade at 28.730 at the close. Repsol (MC:REP) declined 4.37% or 0.750 points to end at 16.410 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was down 2.27% or 1.560 points to 67.240.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 125 to 47 and 29 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1291.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.78% or 0.56 to hit $71.64 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.39 to trade at $79.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.1700, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8764.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 93.94.
