Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which rose 1.28% or 0.340 points to trade at 26.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) added 1.03% or 0.066 points to end at 6.448 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was up 0.39% or 0.300 points to 76.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which fell 4.15% or 0.093 points to trade at 2.147 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) declined 2.75% or 0.152 points to end at 5.381 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was down 2.11% or 0.153 points to 7.107.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 113 to 50 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in BBVA (MC:BBVA) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.75% or 0.152 to 5.381. Shares in Acciona (MC:ANA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.39% or 0.300 to 76.580. Shares in Telefonica (MC:TEF) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.11% or 0.153 to 7.107.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.60% or 7.30 to $1204.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.62% or 0.43 to hit $69.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.37 to trade at $77.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1656, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.73.
