Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Unicaja Banco SA (BME:UNI), which rose 1.00% or 0.01 points to trade at 1.31 at the close. Meanwhile, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) added 0.63% or 0.01 points to end at 2.08 and Melia Hotels (BME:MEL) was up 0.47% or 0.04 points to 7.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which fell 6.35% or 0.62 points to trade at 9.21 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) declined 5.38% or 0.63 points to end at 11.09 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) was down 3.86% or 0.75 points to 18.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 130 to 71 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.77% or 18.65 to $2,439.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.19% or 0.15 to hit $80.87 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $84.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.85.
