Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 3.78% or 0.980 points to trade at 26.910 at the close. Meanwhile, Viscofan (MC:VIS) added 1.40% or 0.800 points to end at 57.750 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 0.57% or 0.400 points to 70.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aena SME SA (MC:AENA), which fell 3.67% or 6.05 points to trade at 159.00 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 3.24% or 0.089 points to end at 2.654 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) was down 2.47% or 0.710 points to 28.060.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 124 to 56 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.24% or 0.089 to 2.654. Shares in Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) rose to all time highs; up 0.57% or 0.400 to 70.320.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1302.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.64% or 0.42 to hit $65.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.84 to trade at $76.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 93.56.
