Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.24% or 0.615 points to trade at 28.110 at the close. Meanwhile, Viscofan (MC:VIS) added 1.53% or 0.900 points to end at 59.900 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was up 1.07% or 0.120 points to 11.370 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which fell 2.59% or 0.680 points to trade at 25.620 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 2.14% or 0.041 points to end at 1.872 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was down 2.08% or 0.780 points to 36.740.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 94 to 72 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) fell to all time lows; falling 2.14% or 0.041 to 1.872.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.49% or 6.00 to $1217.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.51% or 1.04 to hit $67.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.05% or 1.52 to trade at $72.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1667, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8894.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.45.
