Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.67% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 2.93% or 0.073 points to trade at 2.568 at the close. Meanwhile, Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) added 1.34% or 0.340 points to end at 25.620 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was up 0.95% or 0.180 points to 19.075 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which fell 2.13% or 0.245 points to trade at 11.260 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) declined 2.11% or 0.128 points to end at 5.946 and Aena SME SA (MC:AENA) was down 1.96% or 3.05 points to 152.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 128 to 50 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.83% or 10.40 to $1244.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 1.40 to trade at $77.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1609, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 94.78.
