Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS), which rose 4.47% or 2.19 points to trade at 51.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Indra A (BME:IDR) added 1.61% or 0.30 points to end at 18.96 and Ferrovial (BME:FER) was up 1.42% or 0.58 points to 41.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which fell 3.45% or 0.65 points to trade at 18.18 at the close. Acciona (BME:ANA) declined 3.05% or 3.40 points to end at 108.10 and Acerinox (BME:ACX) was down 2.70% or 0.26 points to 9.38.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 106 to 81 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.47% or 2.19 to 51.15. Shares in Ferrovial (BME:FER) rose to all time highs; rising 1.42% or 0.58 to 41.50.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.39% or 10.74 to $2,769.94 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $75.77 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $79.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 108.02.
