Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Iberdrola (BME:IBE), which rose 1.06% or 0.13 points to trade at 12.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Melia Hotels (BME:MEL) added 0.66% or 0.05 points to end at 7.68 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) was up 0.63% or 0.12 points to 19.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which fell 7.94% or 1.72 points to trade at 19.94 at the close. Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) declined 2.51% or 0.23 points to end at 9.11 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) was down 2.21% or 0.27 points to 11.97.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 139 to 61 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iberdrola (BME:IBE) rose to all time highs; rising 1.06% or 0.13 to 12.45.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 8.70 to $2,335.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.55% or 0.45 to hit $81.18 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.54 to trade at $84.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.34.
