Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acerinox (MC:ACX), which rose 2.08% or 0.245 points to trade at 12.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Indra A (MC:IDR) added 1.44% or 0.190 points to end at 13.395 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 1.32% or 0.320 points to 24.585 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which fell 3.02% or 0.055 points to trade at 1.768 at the close. Mapfre (MC:MAP) declined 3.01% or 0.085 points to end at 2.736 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was down 2.38% or 0.229 points to 9.413.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 108 to 59 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.32 to $1289.12 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.61% or 0.84 to hit $51.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.46% or 0.84 to trade at $56.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1780, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8767.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.04.
