Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 4.17% or 0.36 points to trade at 8.99 at the close. Meanwhile, SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 3.51% or 0.40 points to end at 11.78 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) was up 1.88% or 0.11 points to 5.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melia Hotels (BME:MEL), which fell 3.45% or 0.27 points to trade at 7.55 at the close. Bankinter (BME:BKT) declined 1.90% or 0.15 points to end at 7.64 and Repsol (BME:REP) was down 1.78% or 0.26 points to 14.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 104 to 95 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.04% or 24.70 to $2,394.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.31% or 0.26 to hit $84.14 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.14 to trade at $87.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 104.63.
