Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS), which rose 1.48% or 0.530 points to trade at 36.390 at the close. Meanwhile, Repsol (MC:REP) added 1.19% or 0.200 points to end at 16.950 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 0.54% or 0.007 points to 1.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which fell 3.26% or 0.865 points to trade at 25.670 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 2.01% or 0.043 points to end at 2.096 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was down 1.70% or 0.440 points to 25.400.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 123 to 55 and 25 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.92% or 11.30 to $1216.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $67.86 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.60% or 0.44 to trade at $72.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1606, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8937.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 95.25.
